Fedez to Renzi: "I'm not a millionaire, in fact I'm a multimillionaire"

Former Prime Minister and leader of Italia Viva Matteo Renzi was a guest of Fedez and Mr Marra on the Pulp Podcast in the past few hours, in the Milan studios. Inevitably, the discussion focused on the 80 euros in the paycheck, a symbolic measure of the Renzi government. The two hosts criticized the decision, branding it an election spot.
"The 80 euros were useful, but because you are a millionaire, don't be a pain in the ass, people who are suffering - said Renzi -. But excuse me, you have no idea what it means for someone who works in the metalworker, earning 1200 euros, to go to 1280, Federico? Oh no, it's like this because it's a fact, it's fine. It's not that I'm dying of hunger, I want to be clear. But the concept is that the 80 euros, for 10 million families, if you are a metalworker or a shop assistant, earning 1200 euros, you get a rule that actually lowers your taxes, that is, it takes you from 1200 to 1280".
The difference with the Citizenship Income"That too, in my opinion, is a very electoral move," Fedez reiterated. "If you do it once, right? It's like the basic income. The moment you put it in, you create a need, then when you take it away it is perceived," said Mr Marra. "No, it's not a populist move, because the basic income leaves you on the couch. That was the accusation. I pay you more for your work because I think that if you go and break your back, and you've been through it because you come from the world anyway, do you know this pain?", Renzi responded.
"I became a millionaire""Exactly, in fact I became a millionaire. Or rather, a multimillionaire, I meant to say," Fedez smiles. "Forbes, take note," Renzi replies ironically. "But the underlying concept is precisely because you know. Do you know what the difference that 80 euros made to you means? If in the end you have more money in your pocket, you live better," concluded the former prime minister.
